Hi guys
I am most of the way through listening to your audio book during my work-related travels around the traps of country NSW. It's a great listen (read), my only disappointment being that of your own such feeling about Mongolia. I went there myself for a few weeks last year and loved it! Mind you I went in their summer and therefore the ger camps, lakes etc were comfortable and not too cold at all.
I am now inspired to go to some of the 'Stans though I might just strangle someone during the border crossings ...
Thanks for sharing your travel memories

cheers

Hi Jon
Fantasic to meet you at Stonnington Library, Malvern yesterday. I loved your universal truths and hearing, once again, that it's all about the journey and not the destination. Great travelogue.
Thanks, Linda

I have just finished this book. What a marvellous trip you both had. It was wonderful that your son went to spend father and son time together, and see this wonderful world. Its great that you had no trouble, car wise and with other people. Just goes to show all over the world we are the same.

Have just finished the book and enjoyed it immensely. What made it all the more so was the fact that we bought the audiobook AND the hard copy, and listened to the audiobook whilst driving from Adelaide to Sydney and back. The audiobook is read by Jon and Jack themselves, so the pleasure of hearing Jon's voice coming through the car stereo again, even in rural NSW, was fantastic, but combining it with reading chapters in between listening, and hearing THEIR intonations, emphases, and their quoted words in their own voices was a wonderful added dimension to what was already a great story and a great read. Word of mouth is a great ambassador, and many of our friends and colleagues have indicated they will be buying the book on the reviews we have given them. I would like to think that the audiobook will be serialised on one of ABC's radio programs at some stage (Radio National's 'Book Reading' for example).
For those that followed the blog and read the book, check out audible.co.uk for the audio version - a great buy and a wonderful complementary addition to the book itself.

Hi Jon & Jack,

Half way through this incredible journey, just one question?
When will Jack be writting his own book, no disrespect Jon but his view on the trip will be so far different to yours and id love to read his full version of events.

Having travelled our lovely planet on numerous occasions with our three teenage daughters it is amazing how they see and veiw things differently from us parents.

Back to the book now!!

have just finished the book 12/10
amazing crazy -brave
We have been to Russia ,Eastern Europe & China albeit in the tame places and realize how easy it is with a guide to deal with the paperwork .

We also learned a bit about those places and the recent history and society and your comments resonated with what we saw also
